Cristiano Ronaldo has been ruled out of Tuesday night’s Real Madrid’s Champions League semi-final first-leg clash with Manchester City.
The Portuguese star failed to shake off a thigh strain and he has left a big vacuum in the attacking set up of the Spanish giants.
Ronaldo actually sat out Real Madrid’s weekend win over Rayo Vallecano with a thigh problem – the first La Liga or European match he has missed this season – but was described as “100 per cent” fit by manager Zinedine Zidane.
Meanwhile Nigeria youngster Kelechi Iheanacho who is dreaming to face Real Madrid, has been named on Manchester City’s bench.
Manchester City: Hart; Sagna, Kompany, Otamendi, Clichy; Fernandinho, Fernando; Navas, Silva, De Bruyne; Aguero. Subs: Caballero, Mangala, Zabaleta, Kolarov, Delph, Sterling, Iheanacho.
Real Madrid: Navas; Carvajal, Ramos, Pepe, Marcelo; Kroos, Casemiro, Modric; Bale, Benzema, Vazquez. Subs: Casilla, Varane, James, Kovacic, Jese, Isco, Danilo.
