A frosty relationship is playing out between Super Eagles captain, Vincent Enyeama, and coach of the national team, Sunday Oliseh.
Camp sources said Enyeama, who only arrived on Monday in the Belgium camp of the Eagles, was initially kicked out of the team’s hotel for supposedly questioning the rationale behind Oliseh sticking with Ahmed Musa as Eagles’ captain despite the return of more senior players like John Obi Mikel.
The query from Enyeama did not go down well with the coach who ordered that the Lille shot stopper be decamped.
While national team officers have refused to speak officially on what transpired, the NFF, through its official twitter handle, confirmed that there was some sort of ‘misunderstanding’ but they were quick to add that same had been resolved and Enyeama allowed to stay back in camp.
“It’s true that there was a little misunderstanding in the camp of @NGSuperEagles, but the matter has been resolved.
Enyeama is yet to feature for Nigeria since the appointment of Oliseh as Coach of the national team.
A month ago, the goalkeeper was unavailable for the Super Eagles’ Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania, following the death of his mother.
With the latest altercation, it is yet to be seen if Enyeama would be allowed to be in between the sticks for either of the upcoming games against Congo and Cameroon.
