Nigeria League: Salami nets hat trick as Sunshine fall in Warri

Gbolahan Salami provided a Man-of-the-match display as he scored all three goals in Warri Wolves 3-0 win over Sunshine Stars at the Warri City Stadium on Saturday.

Salami scored a goal in the first half before adding two more in the second half to give his side maximum points in the Week 32 Nigeria Premier League clash.

Salami got the opening goal in the 42nd minute to give Warri Wolves a 1-0 lead going into the half time break.

The former Shooting Stars forward doubled his tally seven minutes into the second half with a superb finish off a Goodluck Onomado’s assist.

Salami effectively ended the tie with another goal in injury-time as Wolves returned to second spot on the log and continue to pile the pressure on leaders Enyimba who won’t be in action until Sunday.

Meanwhile, in the other Premier League game on Saturday, Abia Warriors and Enugu Rangers played out a 3-3 draw.

Interestingly, another player Chinoso Chikatara also scored a hat trick in the derby clash, however his effort could only give his side just one point following the last minute equalizer by Rangers.
