Federations Cup Final: Dolphins FC to face defending champion, Enyimba

Federations Cup finalists, Dolphins and Enyimba will slug it out between themselves Sunday at this year’s Federations Cup final at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.

Both clubs will feature in CAF’s continental competitions next year; Dolphins will represent Nigeria at the CAF Confederation Cup, while Enyimba will feature in the Champions League as both teams finished the league as runners-up.

Both clubs are presently camping and training for the match in Ogun State.

Amongst the stars that will feature in the game is the all-time highest goal scorer for Enyimba, Mfon Udoh, with 23 goals and Emem Eduok of Dolphins with 20 goals scored so far in the just concluded league season.

Dolphins FC have won the trophy four times, in 2001 when they beat El Kanemi Warriors 2-0; 2004 with a 1-0 win over Rangers; Insurance 5-4 via penalties after playing 2-2 draw and the last victory was a 3-2 win over Rangers in 2007 after 1-1 draw.

Dolphins FC have never lost a Federation cup final, the team will look forward to victory as they will make all effort to retain their Finals uinbeaten run.

Enyimba, the current champion of the Federations cup have won the competition thrice in 2005, 2009 and 2013.
