Nigerian striker, Victor Anichebe, kick-started West Brom’s comeback on Saturday as the Baggies came from two goals down to play out a 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace.
Brede Hangeland and a Mile Jedinak penalty had given Crystal Palace a 2-0 lead before half time however, Anichebe with his 51st minute header and then a late penalty by Saido Berahino saw West Brom forcing out a 2-2 draw against the visitors.
Away to the Stadium of Light, it was a sweet victory for Arsenal who romped to a 2-0 win over the Black Cats.
Chilean striker, Alexis Sanchez, was the the scorer of both goals for the Gunners who only last weekend narrowly escaped a home defeat.
At Anfield, Super Eagles striker, Sone Aluko, did play some minutes for Hull City in their game against Liverpool but he could not find the back of the net.
That nonetheless, Aluko and his teammates will be happy having forced the Reds to a barren draw and having a point away from home.
There was no such luck for Victor Moses whose Stoke City were pipped 1-0 by high-flying Southampton
It was Sadio Mane who netted the winner for the Saints having hit the woodwork twice.
Earlier in the day, reigning EPL champions Manchester City were defeated 2-1 by West Ham United
West Ham United 2 – 1 Manchester City
Liverpool 0 – 0 Hull City
Southampton 1 – 0 Stoke City
Sunderland 0 – 2 Arsenal
West Bromwich 2 – 2 Crystal Palace
