The captain of Bayelsa United, Saloman Junior, has expressed optimism that his team will secure maximum points on Wednesday when they face local rivals, Nembe City.
In a chat with reporters on Sunday after the team’s training session at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium, the 28-year-old Benin Republic defender said he believed victory was certain for his team.
“We are ready for the game, no matter what. We are going to approach the game with all seriousness required to get the maximum three points to move up the table,” he said
The derby will hold at the Sam Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin where Bayelsa united currently play their home matches.
Both teams are battling relegation as the host, Bayelsa United, sit on the 17th spot on the table with 30 points from 25 games while Nembe is on the last spot with 24 points from 25 games.
The Premier League will resume on Wednesday after the Nigerian Referees Association called off the league boycott over the crisis in Nigerian football.
