I want victory for a birthday gift.
Super Eagles skipper, Joseph Yobo, refused to mark his 32nd birthday, preferring to wait after the Lone Star game on Saturday in Liberia.
On Thursday in Abuja, Yobo, was shocked when a birthday cake was made for him by team officials. The Head Coach led other officials and players with songs for the Fernabahce of Turkey towering defender.
Immediately after rendering the happy birthday song, Deputy skipper, Vincent Enyeama, said Yobo should on behalf of his mates make a thank you speech before the cake is shared. Yobo simply declared that he was delighted to be in camp with his mates to be marking a birthday and requested for a special birthday gift from his teammates.
“The biggest birthday cake I can get from you guys is resounding victory and I can assure you that when we get back to Nigeria we can then throw a party and celebrate”, Yobo said.
His mates promised that they will not let him down. They said prayers not only for Yobo at 32, but also for the victory of the team against Liberia.
The Super Eagles will play the African Nations Cup qualifier against Liberia on Saturday.
