Nigeria Premier League side, Shooting Stars of Ibadan, has asked its embattled coach, Festus Allen, to ‘step aside’ after the team slumped to a third straight loss on Sunday.
Premium Times was reliably informed that the decision to relieve Coach Allen of his duties was arrived at after a marathon meeting by the management board of the club after their defeat to Kaduna United.
3SC lost 2-0 in Kaduna and in midweek fell 3-0 at Kano Pillars. They also lost 1-0 at Heartland to make it three losses at a row.
The scorecard for coach Allen shows that he was able to win just 4 matches out of 15 games, he drew 5 and lost 6 games.
The Oluyole Warriors, who have struggled against relegation in the last two seasons, had hoped coach Allen will be able to change their fortunes but the team is currently just one point above the drop zone with 17 points from 15 matches.
Mr. Allen, a former coach of Bukola Babes (now ABS FC), who took over from Fatai Amoo at the start of this season, will now be replaced by his assistants Tunde Odubola and Busari Akeem.
They duo will take charge of the team for Thursday’s home game against Kwara United as the club begins the search for a capable replacement.
