Enugu Rangers have overtaken FC Ifeanyi Ubah at the top of the Nigeria Professional Football League standings after recording a priceless 1-0 win over their rivals on Saturday at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium in Enugu.
Chisom Egbuchulam was the hero of the day; scoring in the 4th minute to hand the Flying Antelopes all three points and also give them the bragging rights over their regional rivals who beat them home and away last season.
The victory on Saturday was enjoyed by appreciable number fans including the Enugu State governor who came in for the second-half of the keenly contested tie.
Rangers who have not won any major trophy in over three decades are hoping to break the jinx this season and they presently have 21 points from 11 games ; two more than FC Ifeanyi Ubah who have dropped to second position with 19 points from same number of games as Rangers.
