The Nigeria national women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, on Sunday secured their second successive victory at the ongoing 2015Afrobasket in Cameroon as they crushed their Guinean counterparts 100-47 points.
After the opening day loss to Angola, the Nigeria women have since picked up with two wins, the most comprehensive being Sunday’s win over Guinea.
The D’Tigress won three of the four quarters in Sunday’s game to effectively put their opponents to sword.
The Nigerian Ladies took the first quarter 25-9 but got carried away in the second quarter which they lost 19-18.
However, the team finished strongly wining the third and fourth quarter 30-12 and 27 -7 to post the 100-47 score line.
Helen Ogunjimi was the top performer in the Nigeria team against Guinea; registering 19 points and 5 rebounds.
The final group game for D’Tigress is to come up against Algeria as they continue for their chase for a third Afrobasket title.
Nigeria won the 2003 and 2005 editions.
