One of the top players with Enyimba International FC, Mfon Udoh, has declared that the number one priority for him and his teammates this season is to wrestle the Nigeria League title away from current holders, Kano Pillars.
Udoh, who has the record of scoring the most goals in a single season, told PREMIUM TIMES that his team has prioritized the league title, and it is a must-win for them this season.
Enyimba International, in recent times, have played second fiddle to Kano Pillars who have won the League title for three consecutive seasons and they are now fired up to end the seemingly dominance of the Pyramid Boys.
“Our target in Enyimba is to win the league title this season,” he told PREMIUM TIMES. “We have set that as a priority and it is a must for us.”
Udoh is once again topping the goal scoring chart in the sixth week of the season with four goals.
“Well, I aspire to score a goal in every game I play and to also keep working hard like I always do “he explained.
“God’s plan for me is to come out this season as the highest goal scorer.”
The home-based Super Eagles star is also hopeful of playing abroad.
“It is the dream of every Nigerian player to go and play abroad; that is my prayers and wishes,” he said. “I have been playing in the league for some time now and I know that by God’s Grace my time shall come.”
Mfom Udoh scored a record 23 goals last season; a feat that has never been achieved by any player in the domestic league since its inception .
