The Nigeria Football Federation on Tuesday renewed the contract of Super Eagles Coach, Stephen Keshi,
with a two-year extension.
The ceremony took place at the National Stadium in Abuja and was attended by the Executive board of the NFF.
Speaking before the public signing of the contract, the Chairman of the Technical Committee of the NFF, Felix Anyansi-Agwu, said the contract was renewed without any pressure.
“We want Keshi to take the Super Eagles to a new height that’s why the executive committee willingly without any pressure reappointed Keshi”.
“We plead with Nigerians to support any activities of the Federation and what Stephen Keshi stands for; and we thank Nigerians. Issues of the past remain in the past, this is the new beginning,” he said.
“We have confidence in You Mr. Keshi and I’m extremely delighted to present Mr. Keshi to the nation,” he said.
In return, Keshi said he was privileged to be chosen for the job.
“I’m grateful to the 170 million Nigerians for giving me the opportunity to do my father’s job. I thank the Pinnick-led NFF.”
“Keshi alone cannot do this job, it cannot be a one man show; it is going to be a collective effort. I will give 150 per cent from my office,” he said.
Keshi asked that the past be forgotten and for the team to stick together to make Nigerians proud.
