CAF Confederation Cup: Warri Wolves walk tight rope

The only Nigerian club left in any continental competition, Warri Wolves, have their work well cut out a they secured a slim 2-1 win in their second round first leg CAF Confederation Cup tie against DR Congolese side MK Etanchetie.

Super Eagles forward, Gbolahan Salami, scored both goals for Wolves, with one in each half. He was assisted for the second goal by Etebor Oghenekaro who did great job to get past his markers.

The Congolese pulled a goal back through enterprising danger man, Mombo Lwamba.

Oghenekaro and Salami could have helped Wolves record a more comfortable home win but they missed several chances to score.

MK Etancheite were awarded a penalty after defender Monday Osagie handled the ball inside the 18-yard area, but they failed to level as the Congolese captain Kabangu Kadima played it over the bar.

For many, the return leg in DRC which will be played in a fortnight is very open as a 1-0 win for MK Etanchetie is enough to knock out the Nigeria contenders.

Nigerian clubsides, Kano Pillars and Enyimba, have already been knocked out of the presitigious CAF Champions League.
