Fans at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri on Sunday were treated to a goals feast as the Nigeria Premier League game involving Heartland FC and Nasarawa United produced seven goals – one of the highest tallies so far this season.
It was Heartland FC that won the seven-goal thriller, scoring five times, while the visiting Nasarawa United team could only manage two goals.
Heartland FC’s goals came off the boots of Ebere Odiche, Fred Okwara, Joseph Iniobong and Bright Ejike who scored two goals.
In some other matches of Week 3 of the Nigeria League, FC Taraba could not take the heat as Lobi Stars held the team to goalless draw at home.
On their part, El-kanemi Warriors hit Abia Warriors 3-1, while Enyimba recorded its first win of the season as they piped Bayelsa United 1-0.
