Robbed Kano Pillars bounce back with home win

The Nigeria League Defending Champions, Kano Pillars, won their first domestic match of the season after they were robbed on their way to a league match last weekend.

Second half goals from Adamu Muhammed and Ubong Ekpai were enough for the Pyramid Boys to secure a morale boosting 2-0 win over visiting Bayelsa United on Saturday at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.

Pillars grabbed the goal opener when Adamu Mohammed scored from Rabiu Ali’s cross in the 46th minute before Ekpai sealed victory with another goal late in the game.

In the other Saturday match in the Nigeria Premier League, newcomers, Shooting Stars FC lost at home to Heartland FC, the match was played at the Lekan Salami Stadium at it ended 1-2 in favour of the visitors.
