Manchester United are out of this year’s FA Cup competition in England following their 1-2 defeat in the hands of Arsenal late Monday night.

It was former United striker Danny Welbeck who came back to haunt his old club as he scored the winning goal in the feisty encounter at Old Trafford on Monday night.

Welbeck scored in the 61st minute after Wayne Rooney had cancelled out Nacho Monreal’s strike before the break, to seal a first win at Old Trafford since 2006 for the Gunners.

For United Coach, the disappointment continues having openly admitted that the only realistic chance of his team winning any silverware this season is in the FA Cup.

Conversely, Arsenal will be proud of their gritty display which has earned them a place in one of the Wembley semi-final games.

According to the draws conducted late Monday night, the Gunners are to face the winner in the Bradford Reading time.

The development means Aston Villa will be facing the winner between Liverpool and Blackburn Rovers.
