The Ogun State Football Association has elected new executive officers into various positions to run the affairs of the football body in the state till 2019.

The election, which held Thursday at the conference room of MKO Abiola International Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta, was observed by a representative of Nigeria Football Federation, Yusuf Ahmed Fresh.

Mr. Fresh said the election was in line with the laid down rules and regulations of the Federation.

He highlighted the need to have a free, fair and credible election, which he said would help unify football associations in Nigeria.

“NFF has given us everything to make this election a success, and that is why necessary steps have been followed before conducting Ogun FA election to make it credible,” Mr. Ahmed said.

The Chairman, Ogun  Football Association Electoral Commission, Emmanuel Olu-Alade, said all legal processes were duly followed particularly in the screening of eligible candidates and disqualification of those who did not meet up with the election guidelines.

Twenty-one delegates, including coaches and referees, were accredited to take part in the election.

The incumbent Chairman, Ganiyu Majekodunmi, and his Vice, Nojeemdeen Lasisi, were returned unopposed, while Oyerogba Fatai, Odejimi Abiodun, Julius Kolawole, Kolawole Popoola, Bamgboye Olufemi, Olugbenga Segun and Osunaiki Adesola were elected into various posts as members.

The returning Chairman, Mr. Majekodunmi, in his inaugural speech said the elected officers would not rest on their oars to take the game of football to greater heights in the State.
