Former Warri Wolves Player, Ike ThankGod, has said that he wants to win a league title with his new club, Fanja SC of the Omani Premier League.
In an interview with PREMIUM TIMES, the 29-year-old lanky defender said he was hoping to win the league title and possibly move to a bigger club in the Arabian league.
“My target is to play well here and also help the team to win the league, and maybe sign a bigger club in any of the Asian countries,” said ThankGod who signed a four months contract with Fanja SC.
The defender who already feels at home in his new base described the people in Oman as highly hospitable and fun to be as opposed to their reputation of being hostile.
“I am doing fine, the fans coaches, players everybody likes me, they are very friendly people here,” he said. “The new environment and lifestyle did not affect my playing skills and I am adapting well, I am still playing the way I use to play in Nigeria, there is no much difference.”
When asked what he misses about the Nigerian League, the player said he only misses his friends but he is very happy to leave the Nigerian League.
“I don’t miss the Nigerian League, I only miss my friends, it’s the dream of every player to leave Nigerian league and play abroad”, said ThankGod.
Fanja SC has won the Omani league for a record eight times and is hoping for a ninth success with the addition of players like Ike ThankGod in their team.
