Nigerian striker, Brown Ideye, continued in his rich goal scoring form on Saturday as he found the back of the net twice in West Brom’s 4-0 thrashing of West Ham United.
With the victory, West Brom are now through to the quarter finals and will be waiting to know who their opponents will be in Monday’s draw.
Ideye who had scored two goals in his last two outings for West Brom, again set the tone in Saturday’s game as he fired his side into the lead in the 20th minute after Craig Dawson had charged down the wing before sending in a low cross for Ideye, who turned it in at the near post.
The Nigerian international wanted a penalty a few minutes later when he took a tumble while trying to get free during a corner, but the referee waved his plea aside.
West Brom doubled their advantage before the break through Morrison as the first half ended 2-0.
Early in the second half Ideye made it three for the Baggies as he connected well to a cross from his teammate, Stephane Sessegnon.
The rout for West Ham was completed by Saido Berahino who made it four for the home side as he smashed in the ball from a tight angle after Sessegnon played him through.
Indeed Ideye will be enjoying the changed times having moved from zero to hero and now justifying the 10 million pounds transfer fee paid on him.
