The Nigeria female national team, the Super Falcons will play New Zealand and Switzerland in June as part of preparations towards the FIFA World Cup that will take place in June Canada, a top official of the Nigeria Football Federation told PREMIUM TIMES.
The source said all arrangements are almost concluded with the two countries.
“We have been able to secure international friendly matches for the girls, they will play Switzerland and New Zealand in their training camp in Canada two weeks before they start the World Cup,” the source who pleaded anonymity stated.
“The girls will open camp in Abuja this February and train all through till the World Cup, they will also play Mali in the Olympics Games qualifying rounds on the ninth and 16th of May, both home and away,” the source added.
The Super Falcons are hoping to stage a return to both the All African Games and Olympic Games having missed out on both tournaments.
The female national team also have their eyes on the Female World Cup which will hold between the sixth of June and seventh of July 2015.
