There is apathy for the 2015 Federation Cup as only 10 states are confirmed to have completed the registration formalities for the for the 2015 men and women competitions despite several pleas from the Nigeria Football Federation.
A statement from the NFF spokesperson, Ademola Olajire, on Tuesday expressed fears that a good number of the states may risk not participating in this year’s competition as the deadline for registration is fast approaching.
The statement from Mr. Olajire revealed that the passionate pleas from the Head of Federation Cup Unit in the NFF, Ruth David, have so far fell on deaf ears as only 10 States have registered for this year’s competitions, 10 days to the deadline for registration.
“It is important to remind all the States that the deadline for registration for the 2015 Men and Women Federation Cup competitions is February 13. Late registration, between February 16 to 20, will attract a fine of N50,000 for the men competition and N40,000 for the women competition.
“Submission of completed players’ licenses will be between February 23 and 27. Late submission, between March 9 and 16, will attract a fine of N300,000 to the defaulting club(s).”
Miss Ruth warned the erring states, noting that there have been little or no responses to her repeated phone calls and text messages to the different states.
While the states dillydally, the grand finale of this year’s Men and Women Federation Cup competitions has already been fixed for Sunday, August 16
