Nigeria Premier League Club, Warri Wolves FC, will be using the Super Six tournament which kicks off this weekend in Abuja, to prepare for the 2014/15 League season.
The team’s spokesperson, Moses Etu, said the players are raring to play even as they will be going head-on with two Nigeria age grade teams; the Flying Eagles and Dream Team VI.
“Our players are very excited that they will be playing against the U20 and U23 teams as they believe that these matches will prepare them well for the task ahead,” he said.
Aside featuring in the Abuja pre-season tournament, Etu also added that the team will train in Ibadan and Sagamu for adequate preparations for the new league season and also the CAF’s Confederations Cup.
“Our players are well relaxed having played some local teams, but we will train in Sagamu and Ibadan after the expanded Super 4 in Abuja,” he said.
“The squad will include their new signings and they are in high spirits,” Etu said.
He further revealed that the team will arrive in Abuja on Friday for the Super Six tournament with 35 players and 10 officials. Mr. Etu said there are plans to perform better than last year; when they defeated Bayelsa United and Kano Pillars and lost to Enyimba to finish second.
