Super Eagles and Stoke City striker, Osaze Odemwingie, is backing Ivory Coast to finish tops at the ongoing 2015 edition of the African Cup of nations ongoing in Equatorial Guinea.
The injured striker, said on ITV, a UK-based Television where he is acting as a pundit, that he believes the star-studded Ivorian team can lift the trophy.
“Most people will say Algeria or Cote d’Ivoire. I would probably say Cote d’Ivoire if Yaya and Bony were fit enough because I think the fittest team will win it; I know Yaya sometimes struggles to play in the heat, and sometimes Bony, but they are the best players in the tournament,” he explained.
Despite being always seen as favourite in past years, Ivory Coast has only won the AFCON trophy once in 1992 and So far in the AFCON 2015, they played a 1-1 draw with Guinea in their maiden game of the tournament.
Super Eagles of Nigeria are the defending champion of the African Cup of Nations having triumphed in South Africa in 2013, sadly the team is not on hand to defend their title.
