Nigeria Premier League club, Dolphins FC of Port Harcourt, are already preparing big for their campaign in the CAF Confederations Cup as they have announced the signing of Onyekachi Bartholomew Akakem from Khaleej Sirte FC of Libya to further bolster their team.
The new recruit is described as a versatile player who fits well as a central defender and as a defensive midfielder.
He will feature for the club in the 2014/15 league season, and has also been registered to play for the team in the CAF Confederation Cup that starts next month.
“Onyekachi Akakem is good with both feet, a good man marker and is a combative defender,” China Acheru, Media Officer of the Club said.
“He is calm and comfortable on the ball and prefers the short pass from defence to build up play, rather than boot the ball out. He is good in the air and is technically sound,” he added.
Before his latest move, Akakem, who was pretty close to playing for the Super Eagles few years ago, had previously featured for Ajiya Babes, Ocean Boys, Heartland, Rangers and most recently Khaleej Sirte SC in Libya.
