There are speculations that Nigerian striker, Yakubu Aiyegbeni, could be making a sensational return to the English Premier League where he distinguished himself in the past.
English tabloid, Daily Mirror, suggested that Aiyegbeni could be reuniting with his former boss Harry Redknapp at QPR as the English manager seeks affordable options to bolster his attack line-up for the crucial second half of the League.
Aside Aiyegbeni, England striker, Jermain Defoe, who is with FC Toronto in the MLS is also being targeted by RedKnapp.
However, the presence of Aiyegbeni in the stands to watch QPR lose 1-2 to Arsenal on Boxing Day further suggests he could be making the January move to Loftus Road.
Redknapp had worked with Yakubu at Portsmouth when he gave the Nigerian star the chance to come to England; signing him on from Israeli club, Maccabi Hafia on loan in January 2003.
The last appearance in the English top flight for the 32-year-old Nigerian forward was in 2012 with Blackburn Rovers when the club were relegated.
Yakubu has also played for English clubs like Leicester City, Everton and Middlesbrough in a time that spanned about a decade in the United Kingdom.
The ex-Super Eagles striker currently plays for Qatari club Al Rayyan and has six months left on the contract.
