Super Eagles striker, Brown Ideye, finally broke his English Premier League goals drought as he was target for West Bromwich Albion in the 3-1 home loss to Manchester City at the Hawthorns on Friday.
Ideye before Friday only scored in the Capital One Cup and he has been criticized by a lot of West Brom fans who see him as a waste having cost the club a whopping £10 million pounds during the last transfer window.
Having watched helplessly as his team went three goals down, with three minutes left, Ideye helped the ball over the line following a corner kick to register his first Premier League goal and thus end the game 3-1.
Elsewhere, Wayne Rooney banged in a brace as Manchester United romped to a 3-1 victory over Newcastle United to keep alive their slim tile hopes.
The England international scored in the 23rd and 56th minute before revitalized Dutch star Robin van Persie put the icing with his 53rd minute strike.
While Newcastle United did pull a goal back it was not enough to deny the Red Devils their 7th win in eight league outings.
There was a lot to celebrate for for Sone Aluko and his Hull City teammates as the Tigers got their first win in five games as they shocked Sunderland 1-3 at the Stadium of Light.
Southampton also recorded similar result in their away game against Crystal Palace while there was some relief for Brendan Rodgers and his Liverpool team following their slim lone goal victory over Burnley.
In the day’s earlier game, Chelsea keep to spot with their 2-0 win over West Ham.
