Two strikers, Mfon Udoh of Enyimba and Emem Uduok of Dolphins, on Sunday equalled the highest number of goals set by a player in a season of the Nigeria Premier League.
The 20-goal record was set by Jude Aneke three years ago.
Mfon Udoh scored two away goals to help Enyimba defeat their host, Nembe City, 2-1; while Emem Uduok scored once as Dolphins lost to Bayelsa United 1-3.
Also on Sunday, Kano Pillars boosted their chances of winning the league when they defeated El-Kanemi Warriors 1-3 in Kano; while Abia Warriors grabbed an away victory in Ibadan against Crown FC. The match between Warri Wolves and Sharks FC of Port Harcourt ended 1-1.
