The general secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation, Musa Amadu, has said that the federation will put everything in place to ease the job of the newly appointed Super Eagles coach, Shuaibu Amodu.
Speaking with PREMIUM TIMES in Abuja on Tuesday, Mr. Amadu assured Nigerians that all necessary support will be given to the technical crew to ensure that Nigerian qualified for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
“The team will get all the support to ensure this mission is accomplished. We know the coaching crew also knows the task ahead and everything they require will be put at their disposal, that I am very sure of,” he said.
Speaking about the return leg of the ongoing qualifiers which will be played in Congo, Mr. Amadu said a win was important and that was what is required of the team at the moment;
“We need to look at the remaining matches, and of course critically. It is critically important we win in Congo and it is also critically important that we win the match together in Nigeria against South Africa.
“We must get those six points that stand in our way of the qualification, which is very important for Nigeria as the African Champion. I know we did not start very well. It is not a very good scorecard. It is not how you start but how it ends that’s important and we must ensure that we qualify.
“If the Congolese can come to win us here, it is not a big deal we must also replicate and win, even the South Africans,” he said.
Nigeria, the Afcon defending champions is currently third in the Group F of the 2015 qualifiers.
The Super Eagles has played four matches so far with a lose each to Congo, Sudan, and South Africa; and a win at home against Sudan.
