The Super Falcons of Nigeria have zoomed into the semi-final of the ongoing African Women Championship after they beat Zambia 6-0 in their second group match of the competition on Tuesday.
The Nigerian ladies who are seeking to conquer Africa yet again after being dethroned by Equatorial Guinea scored three goals in each half to seal their place in the last four of the competition with a game still to spare.
The Falcons got the best possible start on Tuesday as they registered their first goal of the game as early as the third minute through Ngozi Okobi who calmly put Nigeria in the lead.
The second goal for the Falcons came two minutes after as Osinachi Ohale made it 2-0 while Desire Oparanozie added to the tally from the penalty spot in the 25th minute.
Asisat Oshoala, Oparanozie and Perpetua Nkwocha completed the rout in the second half scoring a goal each.
The Zambians who were no match for the Nigerian ladies had their woes compounded in the 39th minute when Grace Zulu picked a second yellow for a cynical challenge on Oparanozie. The player was subsequently sent off.
The numerical advantage did count for the Falcons as they hit in three more goals after the incidence and will now wait to face tournament hosts Namibia in their final group game.
The Super Falcons on Saturday in their first game beat Ivory Coast 4-2
