An has emerged the highest goal scorer alongside Gbolahan Salami in the 32 weeks old 2013/14 season of the Nigerian Premier League.
The elated player revealed to PREMIUM TIMES on Monday that his goal scoring was motivated by the Portuguese and Real Madrid player, Cristiano Ronaldo.
“I thank God I have scored 15 goals. I was motivated by C. Ronaldo. I always watch all his matches and I have mastered his style of play. I’m very grateful to God. I’m happy and so far been motivated to do more,” the 26-year old said.
He said he planned to equal or break Jude Aneke’s existing record of 20 goals scored in a league season and was looking forward to an invite to the Super Eagles.
“If (the invite) comes fine but I’m not so desperate for it and that is the fact,” he said.
“I have plans to move to Europe as soon as possible. I prefer the La Liga because of their quality of play, even (my move) depends on the offer from any good club.”
Meanwhile, other top goal scorers are Emem Eduok of Dolphins with 13 goals, Kano Pillars Adamu Hassan with 12 goals, while Abia Warriors striker Peter Onyekachi and Pillars midfielder Rabiu Ali have 11 goals each.
Fidelis Saviour of FC Taraba and Ugochukwu Leonard of Nasarawa United have scored nine goals each.
