Nigerian League: Rain causes postponement of Wolves, Abia Warriors match

Warri Wolves Football Club

A heavy rainfall, Sunday, caused the postponement of the Week 29 match between Warri Wolves FC and Abia Warriors of Umuahia.

The match was postponed because the Warri Township stadium’s pitch, where the match was scheduled to hold, became waterlogged due to heavy rainfall

The match was postponed to 9 a.m. on Monday at the same venue.

The League Management Company, LMC, via Twitter on Sunday, confirmed the new development;

“@LMCNPFL: Warri Wolves vs Abia Warriors now 9am tomorrow. Match called off due to waterlogged pitch. Venue still remains Warri City Stadium #WOLABI”

Warri Wolves is the 4th on the league table with 43 points, while Abia Warriors sits on the 7th spot with 41 points.
