The extraordinary congress of the Nigeria Football Federation which took place Saturday in Warri, Delta State has announced that Tuesday, September 30 will be the new date for elections into the executive board of the Federations.
The extraordinary congress went on as planned despite the reported court injunction from a Jos High Court stopping same.
As earlier reported by PREMIUM TIMES, all 44 delegates were present at Saturday’s extra ordinary congress in which a new electoral committee to midwife the September 30 elections has also been constituted.
However, contrary to pleas by some of the aspirants, the NFF election has been fixed to take place in Warri, Delta State.
The battle for the soul of Nigeria football is as expectedly going to be a tough one as seven candidates had already been cleared to vie for the top position in the Nigeria Football Federation.
It is not clear if a fresh process we put in place for the cleared candidates. Before today’s extra ordinary congress those cleared to run for presidency are: Ogunjobi Taiwo Joseph (Osun State), Yola Abba Abdullahi (Kano State), Mike Umeh – (Anambra State), Pinnick Amaju Melvin (Delta State), Iorfa Mtem Dominic (Benue State), Dikko Shehu (Kaduna State) and Amanze U. Uchegbulam (Imo State).
