Nigerian League: Enyimba, Elkanemi, others win

Enyimba FC of Aba

Enyimba FC and Nasarawa United won their home matches Sunday as they both push to leap-frog Kano Pillars, the defending champion on top of the league table.

Kano Pillars remain leaders with 43 points, followed by Nasarawa with 41 points while Enyimba has 40 points making them the third.

Enyimba beat League newcomer FC Taraba 3-0.

Enyimba’s Mfon Udoh scored a penalty in the seventh minute, Daniel Etor scored the second at the 43rd minute while Nzube Anaezemba scored the third for the “peoples’ elephant”.

Meanwhile, Akwa United held their host Nembe city to a goalless draw.
