Nigerian League: Pillars, Gombe win

The Nigerian League defending champion, Kano Pillars, have retained their top spot in the 25th week of the 2013/14 league season after defeating Abia Warriors in Kano, on Saturday, with a lone goal.

The champion now has 43 points.

Elsewhere, Dolphins FC could not score a goal against Sharks FC in Port Harcourt. Both teams played a goalless draw.

Dolphins FC now has 39 points.

In other matches, Sunshine Stars played 2-1 at home when they hosted Rangers International while Gombe FC recorded their first straight win of the season against Crown FC of Ogbomosho. The match ended 2-0.
