Suarez ban upheld by CAS

Suarez was suspended after biting Chellini at the recent World Cup

The Court of Arbitration for Sports, CAS, has upheld the four-month ban placed on Uruguay strike, Luis Suarez.

Barcelona, Suarez’ new club after he moved from Liverpool, had appealed the ban and had hoped that the ban would at least be reduced.

Suarez was banned by FIFA after biting Italian defender, Georgio Chiellini, during a World Cup group match in Brazil.

That was his third biting incident after committing similar offences while playing for Ajax and Liverpool.

CAS, however, ruled the striker can train with his Barcelona teammates, a relief from the initial FIFA ban which barred him from training or even entering a stadium during his ban which ends in October.
