The Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, on Wednesday disqualified three major aspirants for the office of the President of the federation.
Those disqualified include ex-Nigerian international and 1980 Nations Cup winner, Segun Odegbami; former scribe of the NFF, Taiwo Ogunjobi; and current Acting Chairman of the Federation, Victor Umeh.
The disqualification, unless upturned by the appeals committee, leaves Chris Giwa, the owner of the Nigerian Premier League side, Giwa FC, as the sole candidate for the President of the NFF.
Mr. Giwa is believed to be favoured candidate of the Sports Minister, Tamuno Danagogo.
The NFF elections are scheduled for August 26.
