UEFA Champions League Playoffs: Arsenal draws Besiktas

Vincent Enyeama

Lille FC will be playing against FC Porto.

Arsenal has been handed a seemingly tough opponent in the Champions.

League Playoffs as the Gunners would play Besiktas based on the draws conducted Friday in Zurich.
In a similar note, the Nigerian duo of Vincent Enyeama and Efe Ambrose, also had their playoffs opponents revealed.

While Enyeama who plies his trade with Lille FC will be playing against FC Porto, Ambrose, who stars for Scottish club, Celtic FC, will be battling against Norwegian side, NK Maribor, for passage into the group stage of the world’s biggest club competition.

While it might be a tall order for Ambrose and Enyeama to join the elite list of Nigerian players that have won the coveted trophy, making significant impact will be appreciated by the duo who played for Nigeria at the last FIFA World Cup held in Brazil.

Since its inception, the only three Nigerian players to have lifted the UEFA Champions League trophy with their respective clubs are Kanu Nwankwo and Finidi Geroge, then with Ajax, and then John Obi Mikel with Chelsea.
