The qualifiers begin September.

Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo, has said he believes Nigeria, being AFCON defending champion, can maintain its hold on the trophy at the 2015 edition of the tournament with the help of quality players and coaches.

The 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifiers will determine all the participating countries for the tournament which will hold from 17 January to 8 February, 2015 in Morocco.

Speaking with PREMIUM TIMES at the Abuja Stadium, the Middlesbrough player said, “We can defend the trophy. I believe that our coaching crew is strong enough and also they will invite good and quality players for the qualifiers.”

The qualifiers start in the first week of September and all six matches will be played over two-and-half months between September and November.

Morocco, being the host country, qualifies for the tournament automatically.

Nigeria is in Group A along with South Africa, Sudan, and one of these four: Namibia, Congo, Libya and Rwanda
