The Nigeria Basketball National team, D’Tigers, forward, Al-Farouq Aminu, has signed a two-year contract with NBA club side, Dallas Mavericks.
This was disclosed by his agent, Raymond Brothers, to ESPN.
The contract came with a player option for the second season.
Dallas Mavericks was only able to offer Aminu the eighth overall pick in the 2010 draft, which is the veteran’s minimum.
Aminu previously played for thw New Orlean Pelicans.
The 6ft 9inches, 215-pound Nigerian forward, ages 23, has averaged 6.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in a total of four seasons played for the Los Angeles Clippers and New Orleans Hornets/Pelicans respectively.
Aminu averaged 7.2 points and 6.2 rebounds for New Orleans last season. The player, has twice had a 16-point, 20-rebound performances against his new club Dallas Mavericks.
