Costa helped Athletico win their first Spanish league title in 18 years.
Chelsea FC have concluded the signing of Spanish forward, Diego Costa, from Atletico Madrid for a reported fee of £32 million.
“Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce Diego Costa has today completed his transfer from Athletico Madrid by signing a five-year contract,” Chelsea said in a statement on its website. “He will join up with the first team for our pre-season European training camp next week.”
The 25-year-old also scored 35 goals last season to help Atletico win their first Spanish league title in 18 years.
“I am very happy to sign for Chelsea. Everybody knows it is a big club in a very competitive league, and I am very excited to get started in England with a fantastic coach and team-mates,” Costa was quoted as saying in the statement.
Also, Toni Kroos completed his move from Bayern Munich to Real Madrid on Thursday following his refusal to renew his contract at Bayern Munich.
Kroos was unveiled to fans at the Santiago Bernabau tadium in Madrid in a deal worth €30 million (N6.5 billion).
Kroos who was rated the best player in the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil by FIFA Castrol index based on the statistics of the game will earn about €6 million (N1.3 billion) a year for the next five years.
