Brazil 2014: Nigeria Eagles camp opens in London

Coach Keshi will lead five home based players and members of the technical crew to London on Sunday.

Nigeria’s build-up to the 2014 FIFA World Cup will commence fully this weekend as the Super Eagles camp officially opens in London for the May 28 Scotland friendly.

While the larger chunk of the 30 players in Coach Stephen Keshi’s provisional World Cup list are expected to hit London straight from their respective bases across Europe, the Big Boss will lead the home base Eagles players in the roster from Nigeria to London

Coach Keshi will lead five home based players and members of the technical crew to London on Sunday.

Top of the list of home-based professionals is Chigozie Agbim, who is joined by Kunle Odunlami, Daniel Akpeyi, Ejike Uzoenyi, and Azubuike Egwuekwe. They will link up with the foreign based players who are already at the team’s camp in London.

Coach Stephen Keshi released the Super Eagles provisional 30-man World Cup list earlier in the month and has advised all invited players to report to camp on or before May 26.

The Eagles are scheduled to play Scotland in an international friendly on Wednesday, May 28 at the Craven Cottage, home ground of Fulham in London.

The reigning Africa champions are to switch base to the United States after the Scotland friendly where they will also have two test matches against Greece and the United Sates National teams who will also compete at the Brazil 2014 World Cup

Nigeria will start her Group F campaign against Iran on June 16 before facing Bosnia and then two-time world champions, Argentina.

The Super Eagles have been given the minimum target of surpassing their previous best performance of World Cup Second Round exit.
