Abia warriors defeated hosts, Bayelsa United, on Thursday.
The Head Coach of Abia Warriors, Ladan Bosso, has said he intends help his team qualify for a CAF continental tournament this season.
The former Bayelsa United gaffer, in a phone conversation with PREMIUM TIMES on Thursday, said he is proud of the team’s performance since he took over as head coach. He also commended the management of the team for their organisation.
“My target this season is to get a continental ticket for Abia Warriors. I got one for Bayelsa United last season, I will be able to do more than what I did at Bayelsa for Abia warriors despite the fact that they are just coming up.
“I think they are more organised and deserve to be a continental champion. (In) managerial aspects, they are better.
“I have an office, even guards have their own office. How many clubs can be proud of a reputable secretariat in the league,” he said.
Abia Warriors defeated their hosts, Bayelsa United, 3-1, on Thursday with Bosso attributing the team’s success to his experience and expertise.
The coach boasted about his time in Bayelsa United, saying the management and players of Bayelsa United will not stop missing him.
“Normally, coaches like us, whether we like it or not, are veterans of the league. I started the premier league as a coach and I am still one. I have never had a break as a coach of the Nigerian Premier League,” he said.
“I know the coaches and players are missing me and that they will continue to miss me, I hold the team’s password,” he said.
Abia Warriors are currently placed 19th on the league table with 14 points.
Bosso’s former club, Bayelsa United, however, sits on the fifth position. The team was eliminated from the CAF Confederations cup in April by Ivorian side, Sewe Football Club.
