Nigerian League: Crown FC sacks 12 players for poor performance

Crown FC sits on the 12th spot of the league table with 13 points from 10 matches.

Newly promoted Premier League club, Crown FC, have sacked 12 players for poor performance, a club official has confirmed

The management of the Ogbomosho-based football club on Tuesday disengaged the services of the players based on poor performance.

The General Manager of the club, Fatai Olayinka, confirmed the development to PREMIUM TIMES.

“Yes we have sacked the players. We are tired of low productivity because the performance of the players are too poor and the management has decided to let them go,” said Mr. Olayinka.

The club will play a home match against the league defending champion, Kano Pillars, at the Lekan Salami stadium on Thursday.

Mr. Olayinka said the decision to sack the players will not affect their Thursday game.

“We want to win all our games in the league this season, their absence won’t be felt much. We placed eight on transfer and sacked four,” he said.

“Some of these players think they are still in the national league with their attitudes and performance, so we asked them to go and find greener pasture elsewhere. We only want quality players in the team, all the best to them,” he concluded.

Crown FC sits on the 12th spot of the league table with 13 points from10 matches.
