Rangers International of Enugu on Saturday defeated league champions, Kano Pillars, 2-1 in Enugu.
Emeka Eze gave the hosts the lead with a goal in the 9th minute of the game.
Kabiru Umar equalised in the 31st minute to take the game to 1-1.
Ighadalor Osagona scored Ranger’s second goal in the 45th minute, after he turned away from his marker and moved between two defenders before he hit the net.
Rangers now have 3 points from 2 games, while Pillars have a point from 2 games.
Pillar’s Manir Ubale couldn’t score in the 20th minute when he found himself face-to-face with the Rangers goalkeeper.
Pillars lost two players, Kingsley Udoh and Shehu Abdullahi, to injuries which forced coach Okey Emordi to make changes in the first half.
Meanwhile in Jalingo, hosts FC Taraba worked hard to defeat El Kanemi Warriors by a lone goal.
The goal was scored by Luther Iyorhe, through a free kick assisted by Solar Izuakor during the 78th minute of the game.
