Brazil 2014: Yobo to miss Mexico friendly

The skipper sustained an injury and has been replaced with Germany based defender, Leon Balogun.

Germany based defender, Leon Balogun, has replaced injured skipper, Joseph Yobo, for Wednesday’s Pre-World Cup match against Mexico.

Super Eagles media officer, Ben Alaiya, disclosed this in a Press Release on Tuesday.

He said Yobo is out of the match due to an injury he sustained while playing for his English Premier League side Norwich City against Aston Villa on Sunday.

Yobo’s late replacement, light skinned, Leon Balogun, has already arrived Eagles camp in USA for the game.

The 25-year-old Leon plays for Fortuna Dusseldorf in the German League.

He has also played for Hertha Berlin, Hannover, and Werder Bremen, all in Germany.

Nigeria faces Mexico on Wednesday in a pre-World friendly match.
