Only registered athletes will feature in Nigeria Table Tennis Federation competitions, says Secretary

Registration opened December 11 and will end March 5.

The Nigeria Table Tennis Federation, NTTF, said on Tuesday that only athletes who had paid membership fees for the year would be allowed to participate in the federations approved competitions.

The Secretary of the NTTF, Chinedu Ezealah-Ogundare, said in Lagos that registration for the year opened since December 11 and would close on March 5.

Mrs. Ezealah-Ogundare said that the federation kept the registration open for long to allow athletes ample time to register.

“We gave them enough time to register so that players won’t come later and give excuses for any negligence on their part. It will also allow the federation to have proper documentation of all the athletes that registered for the year,” she said.

The secretary said the federation had also sent registration forms to state associations, the Armed Forces and paramilitary organisations for registration.

“We regularly updated all our affiliated bodies for them to be aware of latest development in the sport,” she said.
She urged affiliated bodies to adhere and comply with the rules and regulations of the federation in the best interest of the federation, athletes and the affiliated bodies.
