Fidelis will join the team immediately.
The Nigerian Premier League newcomer, FC Taraba, have signed on striker, Saviour Fidelis, a former player of Enyimba International FC.
The deal was completed on Thursday in Jalingo. Fidelis is expected to join the team immediately, as it puts finishing touches to its preparations ahead of the league.
The Chairman of FC Taraba, Tijani Babangida, expressed happiness with the acquisition of the striker who, Babangida said, is well experienced in the League.
Babangida had said after the team’s last few friendly matches, which saw it lose 1-0 to Lobi Stars of Markudi and 2-1 to Rangers of Enugu, that the club’s management would work to bring on more players to fortify the areas that needed strengthening.
“We are happy we were able to capture Saviour Fidelis from Enyimba. He is an experienced striker who will add to the quality of the team. I said that the purpose of the friendly matches is not to win but to identify the areas we need to work on before the league commences. We hope to bring in more players before the season begins,” Tijani said. “Our desire is to be able to win our first match. Once we can do that, we know we have begun well and we will look forward to the season with great hope.”
FC Taraba is billed to take on Nasarawa United at home in the first match of the 2013/14 Globacom League season.
