Brazil 2014: Nigeria plans Portugal, Croatia friendly

Nigeria is already facing Mexico in March

The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has proposed a World Cup warm-up match for the Super Eagles against Portugal, officials have disclosed.

The Super Eagles are already set to play Mexico on March 5, in preparation for Brazil 2014. The Chairman of the Federation’s technical committee, Chris Green, however, on Tuesday, revealed that another friendly might be played against Portugal.

“We are considering playing a friendly with Portugal. They play like Argentina and Bosnia-Hezegovina. But for the friendly to come to life, Portugal have to accept and be interested,” Mr. Green told Sports Radio, Brila FM, on Tuesday. “Nigeria has also been working on another test game against Croatia.”

Nigeria was drawn against Argentina, Iran and Bosnia-Herzegovina in the Group F, while Portugal was drawn against Ghana, Germany and United States of America in the Group G of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
