Kano Pillars won on Saturday.
The defending champions of the Globacom Nigerian Premier League, Kano Pillars, on Saturday crashed out of the CAF Champions League.
Though Pillars defeated visiting AS Vita of DR Congo, 2-1, they lost 3-4 on aggregate, having lost the first leg 1-3 in DR Congo when they visited last week.
The visitors took the lead in the first minute, before Pillars fought back to draw level in the 66th minute through a header by Kabiru Umar.
Pillars then took the lead in the 70th minute courtesy of Abdul Haruna, but could not score the much-needed third goal to have a chance of qualifying for the money-spinning group phase of the Champions League.
Kano Pillars also crashed out of the first round of the Champions League last year after losing to AC Leopards of Congo Brazzaville.
