Yobo says the English Premier League is probably the best in the world.
The Super Eagles Captain and new Norwich FC signing, Joseph Yobo, has stated that he is ready for the rigours of the English Premier League despite his long stay-away from the scene.
Yobo who was with Everton for many seasons before heading to Turkey told reporters at Carrow Road that he is looking forward to kick start the second chapter of his career in the Premier League.
“I’m excited that I had this opportunity to come back to England,” Yobo was quoted as saying on Sky Sports. “It’s probably the best league in the world, and it’s a new challenge so I’m looking forward to it.
“There were loads of clubs from abroad who were interested in me, but the manager here convinced me and I wanted to come back to the Premier League.
“We had a week break for Christmas in Turkey but then two weeks of training after that and it was good, so I’m ready to go.
“I trained yesterday [Tuesday] but today it was with the whole squad so I’m happy to be here. I know a few of the players already, it wasn’t entirely new to me but I felt welcome.”
A tough start is on the cards for 33-year old Yobo as he could get his Canaries debut on Saturday, when title-chasing Manchester City come calling at Carrow Road.
City handed a 7-0 drubbing to Norwich City in the reverse fixture earlier in the season.
